Quisiera saber un poco mas sobre mi padre ,si es posible, el fallecio aqui en Argentina yo era muy joven y no conozco a nadie de su familia en Europa,si es posible rescatar algo del pasado,sera bienvenido,muchas gracias,

Hi Ricardo, my family name was originally 'Ropacewicz'; although some relatives spelled it 'Rapacewicz'. They lived in Oszmiany, Belarus (Poland at that time) in the 1880'-1900's. My great-grandfather (Alexander Ropacewicz) and his brothers (Jan, Stanislaw, Francis) and sisters (Josefa, Stanislawa) came to Chicago in the early 1900's. I know that other siblings (Julian, Stefania, Antonina, Emilia) stayed behind in Oszmiany.
I have also found some 'Rapacewicz's in New York that do not seem to be directly related to my family. Their names are: Alexander, Marja, Ivan, Anna, Wlodzmierz, Nadierda, Iwan, Stefanida & Zofia.
I have not been able to locate any of my family in Belarus or Poland today, but notice that the name 'Rapacewicz' comes up a lot in Argentina, so maybe they ended up there?
